About Miranda Kane
Comedian & advocate for sex-worker rights

Miranda Kane is a UK-based comedian, writer, and advocate for sex worker rights and fat liberation. In her twenties, she worked as a sex worker, experiencing a wide variety of encounters that shaped her perspective on sex and sex work. She later transitioned to stand-up comedy, using her unique experiences to challenge stereotypes and dehumanising portrayals of sex workers.

Miranda's one-woman show, Coin Operated Girl, debuted at the Edinburgh Fringe and sold out shows across the UK and Australia, presenting sex workers as diverse, funny, and relatable. She also created and starred in the Audible sitcom Slaving Away, which has become one of Audible’s most downloaded series, now in its third season.

A former columnist for The Metro, Miranda co-hosted the popular podcasts Good Sex/Bad Sex and The Smut Drop, where she discussed safe, consensual sex without shame and lots of humour! She is also the founder of Club Indulge, which creates welcoming events for plus-size folks, promoting confidence and body positivity.

Alongside her comedy, Miranda remains a strong advocate for sex worker rights and fat liberation, regularly appearing on podcasts and exploring new opportunities in acting and writing.
